Teen Injured on M6 Motorway – Police Launch Urgent Appeal

Officers rushed to the westbound M6 between junctions 7 and 5 shortly after midnight in the early hours of Sunday, 18 April, following reports of a 17-year-old boy found injured on the motorway.

How Did He End Up on the Motorway?

Police are urgently investigating how the teen ended up on the busy carriageway and what caused his injuries. The circumstances remain unclear, and officers want to speak to anyone who saw pedestrians in the area at the time.

Witnesses Sought – Were You on Botley Road Bridge?

They are particularly keen to hear from anyone who spotted people on the Botley Road bridge above the motorway or walking along the carriageway during the incident.

“Were you walking along the motorway at this time? Were you with this person or did you see them? You are not in any trouble – we just want to piece together what happened,” said police.

Road Closures Still in Place

  • The westbound carriageway between junctions 7 and 5 remains closed.
  • The Botley Road bridge overhead is also shut.
  • Both closures expected to last several hours.
