Masked Thugs Smash Way In to Steal War Medals and Valuables from Pensioner
Masked men smashed a glass back door and threatened a pensioner in her Oldbury home on Hilltop Road at around 7.10pm.
The attackers forced the terrified woman to open her safe, grabbing her cherished war medals, cash, and jewellery before fleeing the scene.
Heartbreaking Theft of WW1 Medals and Rare Coins
The stolen items include two WW1 medals with ribbons engraved ‘TA Morris’, a Queen Victoria ‘Goblet Florin’ two-shilling coin from 1800, and a rare five-shilling coin turned into a brooch.
Though unharmed, the pensioner remains deeply shaken from the ordeal.
Police Urge Public to Help Reunite Medals with Owner
“If you’re offered these medals or have any information I would urge you to get in touch,” said Detective Sergeant Ian Comfort from Force CID. “The woman is heartbroken that her father’s war medals have been stolen and is desperate to be reunited with them.”
“We are carrying out urgent enquiries to find those responsible. Please contact us if you know anything.”
