Cannabis Crackdown: Freshwater Man Warned After Drugs Warrant

A 30-year-old man has been slapped with a cannabis warning following a police drugs warrant at Sunset Close, Freshwater. The raid this morning was a joint effort between the Wight Rural West Neighbourhood Policing Team and Southern Housing Group.

Community Boosts Police Efforts

Police thanked locals for their support during the operation and urged the public to stay vigilant. They want residents to report suspicious activity linked to cannabis use or dealing in their area.

Spot the Signs of Drug Activity

Officers say look out for:

  • A sudden influx of visitors to a flat or house, with people staying only briefly
  • Quick hand-offs between small groups near a property
  • Residents repeatedly leaving and returning to a property within short periods
  • Groups hanging around, constantly on their phones
  • Unfamiliar or rental cars parked outside and driven by people who don’t usually own such vehicles
