Just after 2.30am on Friday, 24 January 2020, Kent Police dog Lenny and his handler spotted a dodgy vehicle speeding along the A2 at Faversham. When officers signalled for the car to stop, it sped off, only to be finally halted in Murston, Sittingbourne.
Suspects Make a Run for It
The passengers bolted on foot, but Lenny was hot on their heels. The brave police dog quickly brought one suspect to a halt on Church Road, ending his escape attempt.
Helicopter Scrambled – Manhunt Ends on Farm
With a police helicopter joining the hunt, officers tracked down two men hiding on a farm off Blacketts Road, Sittingbourne. Here’s the fallout:
- A 24-year-old arrested for suspicion of theft, dangerous driving, and failing to stop for police
- A 31-year-old arrested on suspicion of going equipped for theft and cannabis possession
- A 15-year-old boy arrested for suspicion of theft and going equipped for theft
All three suspects have been released under investigation as inquiries continue.
