Police Hunt Gang Behind Shocking Southsea Taxi Robbery
Police are on the lookout after a daring robbery in Southsea. At 3.45am on Friday, December 9, a taxi driver had just dropped off a fare in 1 Crescent when three men jumped into his cab and snatched his change bag and wallet before bolting.
The Thieves Make a Clean Getaway
- The gang struck moments after the fare left the vehicle.
- They grabbed around £100 in cash and valuables.
- The main suspect stands 6ft tall, pale, and was wearing a hoody.
Police Issue Warning to Taxi Drivers
Detective Constable David Sheppard said: “I would remind taxi drivers to always be vigilant about their vehicle’s security, even when not carrying passengers.”
“We urge anyone who witnessed the crime or knows anything to come forward.”
