Motorway Murder Mystery: Police Seal Off M27 in Major Southampton Probe
Hampshire police have shut down a large stretch of the M27 motorway near Hedge End as they hunt for clues in a shocking murder case. Officers have cordoned off the area from Junction 7/8, setting out cones and scouring nearby grassland and a stream for evidence.
Heavy Police Presence on Embankment
A police van remains parked within the sealed-off zone, backed by a swarm of officers combing the scene. The partial closure affects the westbound carriageway between junctions 5 and 7. Authorities warn motorists there may be delays but vow to keep disruption to a minimum.
Victim Found with Stab Wound
Shkelzen Dauti, 21 — known as Genny — was discovered dead at Gilpin Close in Southampton. Detectives believe he died from a stab wound to the chest. Three suspects were arrested soon after: a 30-year-old woman, a 27-year-old man, and a 28-year-old man, all held on suspicion of murder.
Police Seek Public Help
Hampshire Constabulary revealed specialist officers will remain on site through today and tomorrow as investigations continue. They urge anyone with information to call 101 immediately.
“We are making every effort to ensure there is minimal disruption to road users,” a spokesperson said.
