Fire Breaks Out in Coventry High-Rise
Chaos erupted at Nauls Mill House in Coventry on Saturday night when a fierce blaze broke out at around 8.50pm. Five adults and two children were quickly led to safety by emergency crews.
Evacuations and Rescue Efforts
Another six people, including a child, managed to escape the fire unaided. Miraculously, no one suffered serious injuries. West Midlands Fire Service moved 19 other residents to a nearby library for safety and shelter.
Massive Firefighting Operation
- Firefighters from Coventry, Solihull, and Birmingham rushed to the scene.
- A total of 75 firefighters arrived in 13 fire engines.
- The blaze engulfed the 16-storey Middlesbrough block and spread from flats to a balcony above.
- Crews described the fire as “severe” and “very challenging.”
Fire Finally Extinguished, Investigation Underway
The flames were brought under control just after midnight. Meanwhile, West Midlands Ambulance Service treated four people for minor injuries at the scene. An official investigation into the fire’s cause has now been launched.
