Six Arrested as Crack Cocaine Bust Rocks Basildon
Six suspects are in custody after a major drugs raid in Basildon today (Friday 11 December). Police smashed a drug line dealing crack cocaine and heroin in the town, seizing a haul worth around £5,000.
Multiple Locations Raided Across Basildon and Vange
Officers from Operation Raptor South executed warrants under the Misuse of Drugs Act at addresses spanning Long Gages and Theydon Crescent in Basildon; Dewsgreen, Malyons Place, and Kent View Road in Vange; Caspian Way in Purfleet; as well as a business unit on Vange Park Road and a storage unit in Howard Chase, Basildon.
Arrests Include Suspected Dealers and Money Launderers
- A 22-year-old man with no fixed address arrested for drug supply and possession
- A 32-year-old man from Purfleet and a 23-year-old woman from Pitsea also arrested for drug supply
- A 55-year-old woman and a 32-year-old man from Basildon nabbed on suspicion of money laundering
- A 32-year-old woman from Pitsea arrested for money laundering but later released under investigation
All suspects remain in custody for questioning except the one woman released under investigation.
Detective Vows to Stamp Out Drug Crime
“Today’s raids are an example of the work we’re doing every day to dismantle drugs gangs at every level and to drive them out of our communities,” said Detective Inspector Scott Fitzmaurice.
Police also uncovered a large stash of designer clothes, believed to be purchased with illegal drug money, highlighting the scale of the operation.
