Tragic stabbing shocks Southampton neighbourhood
Police have sealed off an area around Hinkler Green, Thornhill, after a fatal stabbing in the early hours of Saturday morning. A man in his twenties was found with serious chest injuries on Gilpin Close before sadly dying at Southampton General Hospital.
Crime scene locked down
Multiple police vehicles and officers, including specialist crime scene teams, remain at the scene. Police tape cordons off several areas as investigations ramp up. Residents reported a “sea of blue lights” flooding the streets when emergency services rushed in.
Ongoing investigation
Hampshire Police confirmed they were called at 1:38am after the victim was discovered. They are conducting house-to-house inquiries and have boosted patrols around Gilpin Close.
