Gunshots ring out in broad daylight on a busy Orpington street as a man is left injured and police hunt getaway drivers.
Man Shot in Orpington, Police Launch High-Stakes Hunt
At 3.51pm on Wednesday, April 27, emergency services scrambled to Church Hill, Orpington, following reports of a shooting. Specialist firearms officers were dispatched as tensions soared.
A 30-year-old man was found with gunshot wounds and rushed to hospital. Thankfully, medics say his injuries are unlikely to be fatal but could leave lasting damage.
So far, no arrests have been made, while the Specialist Crime (Trident) team is leading the probe.
Witnesses Saw Fleeing Killers in White Kia
Detective Chief Inspector Sarah Pearce revealed chilling details: “This attack took place in broad daylight and was witnessed by horrified onlookers who immediately came to the victim’s aid.”
She added the victim was shot as he walked down the street. The killers sped off in a white Kia Sportage towards Old Priory Avenue — a vehicle later found burnt out in Sheldon Gardens.
“We want to hear from anyone who spotted this car or has dashcam footage from nearby roads. Your tip could crack this case wide open.”
