Gravesend Armed Standoff Ends with Suspect Smiling in Cuffs
A tense ten-hour armed standoff in Gravesend ended early Friday with a man arrested – and grinning from ear to ear. Kent Police, including armed counter-terror units, swarmed a property on Kemsley Close off Mulberry Road just after 9pm Thursday.
Armed Police, Helicopter, and Dogs on Scene
Officers were joined by HART paramedics, a police helicopter, and dog units in a major show of force. Neighbours reported the man, reportedly a DHL worker, was holed up inside armed with three loaded crossbows.
Man Surrenders Smiling at Dawn
Just after 5am, armed police called on the man to give himself up. He emerged from the property smiling, was handcuffed, and led to a waiting police van. He remains in custody as investigations continue.
