Woman Fatally Stabbed in East London – Suspect Found Dead
Yolanda, 53, was fatally stabbed in the early hours of Sunday, 23 October. Another 30-year-old woman was also seriously stabbed and rushed to hospital.
Murder Hunt Launched
The Met’s Specialist Crime Command took charge of the murder probe, working closely with officers from the North East Command Unit. Detectives launched an intensive search for a suspect known to both victims.
On 26 October, police named 38-year-old Miguel Angel Alvarez Florentino as the prime suspect and issued a public appeal.
Suspect Found Dead in River
In a twist, detectives patrolling near Blaker Road, E15, discovered a man’s body in a river at around 7:30pm on Friday, 28 October. The man was pronounced dead at the scene.
Although formal ID is pending, police are confident the body is that of Miguel Angel Alvarez Florentino. The death is being treated as unexpected but not suspicious.
