Cop Hit by Car in Shocking Grantham Incident – Suspect Arrested
Officer Struck at Sainsbury’s Car Park
A female police officer was seriously injured after being hit by a car at Sainsbury’s in Grantham this morning. The 36-year-old man was talking to the officer while sitting in a black Nissan Juke at around 9:40am. Suddenly, the vehicle reversed and struck her.
Suspect Flees But Caught Quickly
The driver then sped away, leaving the scene and heading south on the A52 before leaving town via Bridge End Road. Emergency crews rushed the officer to hospital after she suffered severe head injuries, including a skull fracture. The full extent of her condition remains unclear.
Man Arrested on Multiple Charges
Police launched a swift pursuit and arrested the suspect within an hour. He faces several charges including failing to stop at a collision, grievous bodily harm, dangerous driving, and possession of cannabis.
