One ATM Dumped, Digger Dumped Too
While one ATM was abandoned at the scene, the digger was found abandoned in a nearby field off Hempstead Valley Drive. No arrests have been made yet. Meanwhile, civil engineers are assessing the site for any structural damage caused during the theft.
Police Hunting Van Used in Getaway
Detective Inspector James Derham said: “There are numerous lines of enquiry we are actively pursuing, but we urge anyone with information to come forward. The digger arrived with a flatbed van, which remains missing. The stolen ATM was loaded onto it.
“The van had its number plates removed. Anyone who spotted such a vehicle in the area is asked to contact us.”
