Three Arrested on Suspicion of Murder After Man’s Death in Scarborough

 

Three men have been arrested on suspicion of murder following the death of a man in Scarborough in the early hours of Saturday, March 8.

Fatal Collision on Silver Street

At approximately 1:45 am, North Yorkshire Police responded to reports of a collision involving a white Audi and a pedestrian on Silver Street.

Despite the efforts of paramedics, the man sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.

Investigation and Arrests

Officers quickly traced the white Audi to Peasholm Gardens and later arrested three men at an address in Scarborough on suspicion of murder.

A scene guard remains in place at the location of the collision as police continue their investigations.

Police Statement and Community Reassurance

A North Yorkshire Police spokesperson acknowledged the community’s concern following the incident:

“We understand that people will be shocked and concerned to hear what has happened overnight. High-visibility police patrols will be in Scarborough throughout the weekend to provide reassurance to the local community.

Appeal for Witnesses and Footage

Authorities are urging anyone who was in the area at the time, or who may have relevant dashcam or CCTV footage, to contact the police immediately.
