Three were arrested following aggravated burglary in Fisherton De La Mere

Three teenagers have been arrested following an aggravated burglary in Fisherton De La Mere, near Warminster.

At around 6.30pm yesterday (27/12) officers were called to a property following reports that three people had forced their way in and threatened the occupants. They demanded that car keys and cash be handed over before making off in the occupants’ vehicle. The car was spotted by officers in Salisbury, where the driver failed to stop and crashed.

A 16-year-old boy was arrested on suspicion of aggravated burglary, possession of cannabis

While a 15-year-old boy and a 14-year-old boy were both arrested on suspicion of aggravated burglary, drug driving and being in possession of a Class B drug.

All three remain in custody.

During further investigation and searches several weapons, including an air rifle and pistols, were located and seized.

Chief Superintendent Ben Mant said: “Burglary remains a top priority for Wiltshire Police and we have a dedicated burglary team which was set up in July to target prolific offenders and investigate offences.

“Burglary is one of the most impactive crimes that a member of the public can suffer. Your home is the place you should feel most safe and secure and somebody breaking in can change the life of a victim and their family forever. That is why we are taking steps to improve our approach to dealing with residential burglary.”
