A woman has died after being found seriously injured in the middle of a residential street in Littlethorpe, Leicestershire, on Sunday evening (11 May).

Emergency services were called to Biddle Road, where she was discovered with critical injuries. Despite attempts to save her, she was pronounced dead at the scene.

A 39-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of murder and remains in police custody as detectives dig deeper into the case.

Crime Scene Sealed Off as Police Hunt for Clues

Officers quickly cordoned off the area while crime scene investigators worked through the night. Police are carrying out house-to-house enquiries and scouring CCTV footage to piece together what happened.

A post-mortem examination is scheduled to determine the exact cause of death. Meanwhile, the victim’s identity remains undisclosed, though her family has been informed and is receiving support from specialist officers.

Police Stress ‘Isolated Incident’ to Local Residents

Detective Chief Inspector Mark Sinski of the East Midlands Special Operations Unit’s Murder Investigation Team said:

“I understand the incident may cause concern among residents, but I want to reassure everyone this is an isolated incident. We are not looking for anyone else in connection with this.”

“Officers will remain at the scene as our investigation continues.”

He urged anyone who witnessed the event or has dashcam or doorbell footage to come forward immediately.
