Gloucestershire Police confirmed the fatal crash happened around 11:35pm on Friday, just north of junction 1 on the M50. A horse-and-trap carrying two Worcestershire residents collided with a blue Volkswagen Golf.
Tragically, both occupants of the horse-and-trap and the horse itself died at the scene. The driver of the Volkswagen escaped unharmed.
