An elderly woman has tragically died after being struck by a hit-and-run rider on Burdon Road near Lidcombe Close. The shocking crash happened just before 1pm on Friday, 16 May. The victim, aged 80, was hit while crossing the road by a black Sur-Ron electric motorcycle heading northbound. The rider sped off, leaving her fatally injured at the scene.
Emergency crews rushed to help but sadly pronounced the woman dead. Police later found the electric bike and arrested an 18-year-old man suspected of causing death by dangerous driving. He has since been released on bail as investigations continue.
