Tragic Motorcycle Crash Claims Life of Southsea Rider in West Marden
A fatal crash shook the village of West Marden on Friday, October 6. Motorcycle enthusiast Paul Gibbard, 37, died after crashing his bike into a fence at Watergate.
Swift Emergency Response Fails to Save Paul
Emergency services raced to the scene just after 5pm following reports of the collision. Sadly, Paul, from Southsea, was pronounced dead at the scene. He had been enjoying a sunny ride on his beloved Triumph Thruxton.
Remembering a Passionate Rider and Community Leader
Paul was more than a rider. He founded the Dull Men’s Motorcycle Club, bringing together fellow motorbike enthusiasts. His motto, “Hold Fast. When times get tough, one needs to hold fast and ride it out,” reflected his tough spirit.
“Our beloved Paul died doing what he loved most – riding his motorcycle in the sunshine. He will be hugely missed by us and all those who knew him,” his wife shared.
Paul’s family have been notified and are receiving specialist support during this heartbreaking time.

Sussex Police are urgently asking anyone who saw the crash or has dashcam or CCTV footage to come forward. Investigators are keen to piece together exactly what happened.
