Two Arrested After House Blaze in Birmingham

West Midlands Police have swooped to arrest a 32-year-old woman and a 37-year-old man following a dramatic house fire in Birmingham’s Kings Norton.

Children Rescued from Burning Home

The alarm was raised just after 4.30pm on 25 May when the fire service called police to a property on Wharf Road. Inside were two young children – a three-year-old and a five-year-old – who were quickly rescued and rushed to hospital. Thankfully, their injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.

Child Neglect Probe Underway

Both suspects are now in police custody, held on suspicion of child neglect. Officers plan to question them as investigations continue.

Forensics Teams Hunt Cause of Fire

Specialist forensic teams are expected at the scene today, combing the house for clues to determine what sparked the blaze.
