Building Partially Collapses in Oldham – Two Hurt, Roads Shut
Terraced Building Crumbles on King Street
Emergency crews scrambled to King Street, Oldham, after a terraced building wrapped in scaffolding partially collapsed just after 12:40pm GMT today. Five people inside escaped without serious harm, but two were hospitalised with minor injuries, Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service confirmed.

Full Emergency Response Deployed
The North West Ambulance Service dispatched three ambulances, an air ambulance, a hazardous area response team, plus doctors and paramedics to the scene. Rescue teams raced against the clock amid the precarious state of the building.
Shock Eyewitness Account
“All the emergencies were there already when I arrived,” said Kwok Wong, local businessman and owner of Ree Ming Chippy in Royton. “The building was a mess. Air ambulances landed on top of Mecca Bingo roof.”
Fire Service Gives Official Statement
A GMFRS spokesperson said: “At around 12:40 this afternoon, Tuesday 24 March, three fire engines from across Greater Manchester were called to an incident involving a collapsed building on King Street, Oldham.”
