Two Men Stabbed in Shocking Attack at Elephant and Castle Station
Detectives have launched an urgent appeal for witnesses after two men were brutally stabbed near Elephant and Castle station late last night (01/09).
Shortly before 11.30pm, police and paramedics rushed to the scene where the victims were found seriously injured on the street close to the station. The 24-year-old man is now in critical condition, while the 25-year-old remains in serious condition in hospital.
Two Arrested as Forensics Swarm the Scene
Both men are being treated for multiple stab wounds. Meanwhile, two suspects have been arrested in connection with the attack.
Specialist officers are still combing the area, and Elephant and Castle station is expected to remain closed into this morning (02/09) while forensic teams carry out investigations.
Police Appeal for Witnesses to Help Crack Case
Detective Chief Inspector Sam Blackburn said: “This was a shocking act of violence and we are working hard to establish the full circumstances behind what happened. We believe an altercation broke out between two groups inside the Underground station, where the victims were injured before escaping onto the street.”
