Urgent Plea: Isle of Wight Kids’ Holiday at Risk After Hotel Blunder

School trip chaos on the Isle of Wight! Education Destination’s Managing Director Jon Carter has issued an urgent call for hotel space after a last-minute hotel “no-show” left 56 school kids stranded. The group, visiting from the mainland, are set to arrive mid-June but now face losing their much-anticipated Isle of Wight holiday experience.

“We Don’t Want to Let These Kids Down”

Jon Carter is desperate to find accommodation for the children and their teachers. He said: “It’s just so important for us that we don’t let these kids down, that they have the holiday experience reward of the Island that was on offer.” The charity has been bringing school groups to the Island since 2014, combining fun activities with education at local attractions.

Why The Isle of Wight? Unique Learning and Fun

Jon explains the Island’s charm: “You have beaches, technology, and nature all in one place. Nowhere else offers what the Isle of Wight does in such a compact area.” For many kids, this trip is more than schoolwork – it’s a reward and a chance to unwind after a tough year.

Time Running Out – Help Needed Now!

The first group affected is being rehomed, but this new batch of 56 school children is set to arrive the week of June 17 and still needs somewhere to stay. If you are an Isle of Wight hotelier or accommodation provider who can help, Education Destination urges you to step up.

Jon added: “The smiles on the kids’ faces from arrival to departure are priceless. Nearly every group who visits comes back, so we must be doing something right.”

If you can offer a helping hand, contact Education Destination on 01983 216114 or email [email protected]. Don’t let these kids down – help make their Island break happen!
