Hunt on for taxi driver after horrific rape in Dickson Road area
Police scrambled to the scene just after 2 a.m. following a brutal attack on a woman in her 30s.
Victim escapes, gets help from family
After the horrific assault, the woman flagged down a taxi. The driver took her to an address near Forestgate, close to Stanley Park, where she confided in her family. They immediately alerted police.
Police launch urgent investigation
Officers are fully supporting the victim as inquiries kick into high gear. Detectives are hunting the attacker and need the taxi driver’s help.
“We are particularly keen to speak to the taxi driver who transported the woman near Forestgate,” said Detective Sergeant Chris Smith. “If this is you, please come forward immediately. You could hold vital information.”
