South London Rapper ‘Loski’ Caught with Loaded Revolver in Gang Probe

Jyrelle O’Connor, aka ‘Loski’, 23, has been found guilty of carrying a loaded revolver after a lengthy Met Police investigation into gang violence in south London. The verdict was handed down on Wednesday, 4 January, following a three-year probe led by Detective Constable Andy Snazell from the Specialist Crime Command.

Uber Stop Reveals Hidden Loaded Gun

O’Connor, from Black Pond Lane, Farham Common, was a key player in rival gang clashes in Brixton. On 9 April 2019, unarmed officers stopped an Uber he was in on the A40, St Andrews Road, W3. During the search, they found a small black sock tucked beneath the front passenger seat—directly where O’Connor had been sitting. Inside was a small black loaded 4mm Flobert calibre revolver, confirmed by forensic experts.

His DNA was on the gun’s loading face, a hidden area only accessible when loading ammunition, linking him directly to the firearm. O’Connor was swiftly arrested and the charges – including possession with intent to endanger life and possession of ammunition while prohibited – followed the next day.

Denies Charges, Jury Unmoved

O’Connor claimed he was forced to hold the weapon after threats from a drug dealer targeting him and his mother. The jury didn’t buy it and unanimously convicted him. The case also connected him to the 2018 stabbing of his friend Latwaan Griffiths, believed to be linked to a failed gang shooting. O’Connor’s DNA and fingerprints tied him to key evidence from that crime.

Detective Hails Verdict, Future Sentence Looms

“This has been a trying and challenging case with many twists and turns, but I’m pleased the jury found O’Connor guilty of his crimes and I’d like to thank them for seeing through his lies and excuses,” said Detective Constable Snazell.

He added: “O’Connor or his gang would likely have used this revolver in further violence. Removing it from the streets could save lives. Despite his social media following and fame, no success justifies serious crime.”

O’Connor faces sentencing at Croydon Crown Court on Friday, 6 January.
