Working parents across England can now snag up to 30 hours of free government childcare per week starting September 2025. This massive expansion could save families a whopping £7,500 per child a year.

Apply Now for Free Childcare — Key Dates

From today, parents with children turning at least 9 months old by 1 September 2025 can apply for the extended childcare hours. This builds on the success of last year’s rollout of 15 free hours, which has already helped more than 499,000 children.

Don’t miss the deadline — applications must be in by 31 August 2025 to start the 30 hours from September. Head to the official government childcare portal and log in with your Government Gateway ID.
