Woman in Her 80s Seriously Injured in Wigmore Road Hit-and-Run
A shocking collision on Wigmore Road has left an elderly woman fighting for her life.
Crash Details
At around 4.30pm on Tuesday, December 7, a red Ford Fiesta smashed into a pedestrian – a woman in her 80s – between Bredhurst Road and the roundabout linking to Hoath Way. She sustained serious injuries to her leg, arm, and chest.
Emergency services rushed her to a local hospital, where she remains in serious but stable condition.
Driver Stops – Cops Investigate
The Fiesta driver stayed at the scene and gave a statement, as did the injured woman. Police have also reviewed CCTV footage to piece together what happened.
Witness Appeal: Black Ford Mondeo Occupants Sought
Officers are urgently hunting the occupants of a black saloon car, possibly a Ford Mondeo. Though not involved in the crash and not suspected of wrongdoing, they might have seen crucial moments just before or during the collision.
