Army Cadet Courtney Jennings Dies in Tragic Halloween Crash
Heartbreak grips the family of 18-year-old Courtney Jennings, who was killed in a deadly crash on Perham Down Road, Tidworth, last Friday night (29/10). Courtney, an REME servicemember stationed in Tidworth and originally from Staffordshire, lost her life alongside her fiancΓ©, 19-year-old Jack Paolucci from Birmingham.
Bright Star With Big Dreams
Courtney’s family describe her as a vibrant young woman with an infectious laugh and a bright smile that lit up every room.
“Courtney lost her life far too soon. No parent should ever find themselves in this situation, but through all our heartache we have the memories of our daughter that will forever keep our hearts bright,” the family said.
“At 14, she decided she was going to join the Army. By 16, sheβd left home for Harrogate Foundation College to chase her dreams. She made herself proud, and everyone around her was proud of her too.”
“She was selfless, kind-hearted, and extremely close to her family. We always saw the love she showed to everyone.”
Joyful Love and Tragic Loss
The couple had planned a night out to celebrate Halloween just hours before the crash. Courtney had spent weeks preparing her costume and was beaming with excitement on a FaceTime call with her parents.
“Jack truly looked after her, and that was a comfort to us as parents. Seeing her so happy was everything,” the family recalled.
“She sent us pictures before they left; she looked so beautiful. Unfortunately, she never made it to the party, and that breaks our hearts. We will never hear her voice or hug her again.”
“It is absolutely tragicβwe will forever miss our angel.”
