Drugs, Abuse and Fear: Nottingham Man Jailed for Running Street Drug Empire From Woman’s Home
Drug Dealing from Living Room
Lucky Pemberton, 28, took over a woman’s terraced house in Top Valley, Nottingham, and turned her living room into a hub for dealing large amounts of Class A drugs. From crack cocaine to heroin, Pemberton sold bulk quantities, using the home as his base of operations.
Abuse and Control
The victim was forced to transport drugs barely clothed, often in her underwear, as she drove Pemberton around to sell drugs and collect cash. His behaviour got increasingly controlling and violent. On one occasion, Pemberton hurled her against a wall, splitting her head open and bruising her back after accusing her of not selling enough.
Chilling Threats and Fear
The woman lived in terror of Pemberton, who threatened to harm her family if she ever spoke to police. He forced her to prepare drugs for sale and run errands, exploiting her addiction to keep her under his thumb. The victim had originally met him through another dealer and was given drugs to feed her habit before Pemberton took full control.
Justice Served
Pemberton, of no fixed address, was jailed for six years and five months at Nottingham Crown Court on 19 December 2022. He was convicted of drug supply offences and two counts of assault causing actual bodily harm.
Detective Inspector Nikki Smith said: “Pemberton cruelly exploited this woman, knowing her addiction made her an easy target. He used her home to sell drugs and became increasingly controlling and violent. We hope this sentence sends a strong message that such exploitation won’t be tolerated.”
“I commend the victim’s bravery and thank the detectives for their skilled work. We remain committed to protecting vulnerable people and cracking down on organised drug crime.”
