East Mersea bus and lorry crash injures 18

. Firefighters have been called to an RTC involving a single decker bus and a HGV which was carrying a steam traction engine. The steam traction engine fell from the lorry and onto the bus trapping and injuring a number of passengers. One critically injured man has been flown to the Royal London Hospital, four patients have been taken to Colchester Hospital with serious but non- life-threatening injuries. Eleven patients have been taken to both Colchester and Broomfield hospitals with various minor injuries, and two patients were treated and discharged at the scene. Crews used specialist cutting equipment to release two casulaties trapped. Both were left in the care of the Ambulance Service. There are a number people injured at this incident, believed to be around 30 people, who are all in the care of the Ambulance Service.
