Hotpoint and Whirlpool tumble dryers recalled over fire risk – now more brands added!
A major product recall has rocked Hotpoint, Indesit, and Creda tumble dryers amid fears they could spark fires. And now, shockingly, three more brands have been slapped on the fire risk list.
Fire crews battle tumble dryer blazes daily
Firefighters across the UK are regularly called to tackle fires caused by these faulty machines. Yet Whirlpool, the parent company, seems slow to act. When will they finally take the recall seriously?
“How many more homes will burn? How many lives lost before action is taken?” questioned a fire service spokesperson. “We do not believe these dryers are safe to keep using.”
Thousands still waiting for repairs amid furious complaints
If your tumble dryer is on the recall list, switch it off immediately. Don’t use it until a manufacturer’s engineer has checked it out and given the all-clear.
Despite thousands reporting faulty machines by the end of October, many customers have had zero contact from Whirlpool. Hotpoint’s Twitter support is flooded with angry complaints from desperate users who haven’t heard back after logging faults.
Whirlpool adds 58,000 Proline and Swan dryers to recall
In a stunning development just three months after their initial fire warning for Hotpoint, Indesit, and Creda, Whirlpool has now thrown 58,000 Proline and Swan tumble dryers into the recall arena.
This adds to the staggering 5.3 million appliances already flagged for fire risk. It’s nothing short of disgraceful that Whirlpool is risking thousands of lives by dragging their feet on this urgent safety crisis.
