M3 Eastbound Closed after Lorry Strikes Bridge

The M3 Motorway has been closed northbound between Junction 4 and Junction 3 following a Large Goods Vehicle striking a bridge going across the M3 Motorway. Specialist cranes have been brought in to remove some of the load from the lorry that shed part of cargo following the collision. Hard road closures have been put in place with traffic being diverted off at Junction 4a. The damage to the bridge is currently unknown. There is already reports of congestion with traffic trying divert away from the incident. A spokesperson from Highways England said ‘A diversion route is in place drivers are advised to follow the black diamond diversion route as the motorway is likely to remain closed for the next few hours whilst the clean up and recovery operation takes place. https://youtu.be/pff9WGCeY6A Updatefrom Highways England: The lorry has now been recovery and the eastbound carriages and closures have been removed.
