Son Jailed for Life After Brutal Attempted Murder of Father in Bradford
A man has been handed a life sentence for trying to stab his own father to death at their home in Bradford.
Shahzan Hussain’s Savage Attack
Shahzan Hussain, 34, from Robert Street, Milford Haven, travelled all the way from South Wales to Bradford to carry out the attack. On April 9 last year, he stabbed his father, Abdul Rouf, in the garden of their property on Harrogate Terrace in Undercliffe.
Hussain was found guilty of attempted murder on February 1. Today at Bradford Crown Court, he was sentenced to life with a minimum of 12 years and 345 days behind bars.
Detective Warns on Domestic Abuse
“This was a horrific and sustained attack and the victim is very lucky to be alive today,” said Detective Inspector Laura Casey of Bradford District CID.
“Hussain drove hundreds of miles to carry out the attack and had previously threatened the victim over a number of years.
“I hope today’s lengthy sentence provides the victim with some comfort knowing Hussain will be behind bars for a very long time.
“West 1 Police take all reports of domestic abuse seriously and encourage anyone affected to come forward.”
