The Metropolitan Police have launched an investigation into a fatal collision in Northolt after a man was arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving.
At approximately 04:40hrs on Monday, 27 January, a BMW was noticed by a patrolling %%UKNIP_ANCHOR_0%% car due to the alleged speed it was traveling at. Moments later, the BMW was involved in a collision with a Ford Focus on %%UKNIP_ANCHOR_1%% Road.
%%UKNIP_ANCHOR_2%% and London Fire Brigade attended the scene, but tragically, the driver of the Ford Focus, a 47-year-old man, was pronounced dead at the scene. His next of kin have been informed and are being supported by officers.
Two men, both aged 25, who were in the BMW were arrested on suspicion of causing %%UKNIP_ANCHOR_3%% by dangerous driving. Both were taken to hospital, though their conditions are not life-threatening. The passenger has since been released without further action, while the driver remains in custody.
Detectives from the Serious Collision %%UKNIP_ANCHOR_4%% Unit are leading the inquiry, working to establish the exact circumstances of the crash. Officers are appealing for any witnesses or anyone who may have dashcam footage of the incident or the moments leading up to it to come forward.
