A 22-year-old man from Bognor Regis has been arrested after a fire ripped through flats at College Court, Northcliffe Road. The blaze erupted just after 4.30am on Thursday, 2 February, prompting an urgent call to police and fire crews.

Residents Evacuated Safely

Thanks to swift action by emergency services and the local council, all occupants were evacuated without injury. They were temporarily housed at nearby Butlins while the fire was tackled.

Suspect Bailed Amid Ongoing Probe

Police have charged the man on suspicion of arson with intent to endanger life. He has been released on bail with strict conditions until 4 March. Officers continue to investigate what sparked the blaze.
