Bobby Sutherland Jailed for Brutal Grab and Drag Attack on Elderly Woman

Six Years Inside for Shocking Street Robbery

Bobby Sutherland, 30, from Terry Street, Hull, was locked up for six years at Hull Crown Court. The sentence followed a brutal robbery on Sunday, 20 September, on Stroud Crescent East, Bransholme, plus an unrelated theft.

Victim Dragged, Injured in Heartless Theft

Earlier, Sutherland admitted snatching a bag from an elderly woman’s shoulder. He shoved her to the ground, dragged her along the pavement, and left her injured and vulnerable in the street.

Detective Praises Victim’s Courage

“I must commend the bravery of the lady who fell victim to this disgraceful attack. She tried to fight off Sutherland despite how intent he was on taking what didn’t belong to him,” said Detective Sergeant Andy Bradley.

“I know how much impact this has had on her and hope knowing he’s now behind bars brings some comfort. This was a targeted attack on a vulnerable person for personal gain—acts like these won’t be tolerated.”
