Life-Changing Attack in Southmead: Blake Hoskins Jailed for Brutal Assault
Blake Hoskins Causes Devastation in Late-Night Attack
Blake Hoskins, homeless and dangerous, left George Maroty with life-changing injuries in a shocking midnight attack on June 18. The violent spree in Ringwood Crescent, Southmead, also saw a 21-year-old woman suffer pellet wounds, requiring urgent medical treatment.
Hoskins Admits Multiple Charges and Faces Prison
Hoskins didn’t deny the brutal assault. He pleaded guilty to causing grievous bodily harm with intent, plus charges of wounding, criminal damage, affray, and a firearms offence. On November 30, Bristol Crown Court slammed the cell door shut, sentencing him to prison.
Dispute Over Ex-Partner Sparks Violent Clash
“Our investigation found this serious incident was the culmination of a dispute between the two men about contact with an ex-partner. This escalated over the course of an evening,” said Detective Inspector James Wasiak, Avon and Somerset Police.
He added, “One man is in prison, another has suffered a life-changing injury and a young woman was needlessly hurt. None of this should ever have happened and today’s ruling shows that the courts take such tit-for-tat violence very seriously.”
Victim Also Faces Court
George Maroty, the victim, appeared in court earlier this month. He admitted affray and criminal damage relating to incidents overnight between June 17 and 18. His sentencing is set for December 23.
