Man Charged Over Stabbing in Ramsgate High Street

A 32-year-old man has been arrested and charged following a stabbing incident in Ramsgate.

Stabbing Shakes Ramsgate Town Centre

Kent Police rushed to Ramsgate High Street at 11.50am on Monday, 29 June 2020, after reports of a man suffering stab wounds. The victim was swiftly taken to a local hospital for urgent treatment.

Suspect Nabbed Just Hours Later

Liam Elward, 32, from High Street, Ramsgate, was caught in an alley near North Way shortly before 5pm the same day. He faces charges of wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm and a public order offence.

Next Stop: Medway Magistrates’ Court

Elward is set to appear via virtual link at Medway Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday, 1 July.
