Monster Rapist Jailed for 15 Years After Preying on 14-Year-Old Girl

Alan William John Upton was slammed with 15 years behind bars at Northampton Crown Court. The jury took just 90 minutes to convict him on all 11 charges, including two counts of rape and nine counts of sexual activity with a child. His crimes date back to 2018 and 2019, when he repeatedly sexually assaulted a vulnerable 14-year-old girl.

Brave Victim and Witnesses Helped Nail the Paedophile

Detective Constable James Wright praised the young victim’s incredible courage for reporting the abuse and facing Upton in court. He said:

“She showed courage far beyond her years – courage no one should have to find. Thanks also to the witnesses who refused to be intimidated and helped convict Upton.”

Upton’s Denial No Match for Justice

From his police interview right through to trial, Upton shamelessly denied all wrongdoing. But the jury saw through his lies and swiftly found him guilty. DC Wright added:

“Upton preyed on this young girl in a cruel, calculated way and subjected her to the worst abuse imaginable. Thanks to her bravery, he now faces years behind bars to reflect on his despicable actions.”

Paedophile Banned From Contact With Any Girl Under 16

Alongside his prison sentence, Upton was slapped with an indefinite Sexual Harm Prevention Order. This means he will never be allowed unsupervised contact with any female under 16 again.
