Massive Cannabis Farm Busted in Mansfield

Police raided Oetjon Agalliu’s home on Bentinck Street, Mansfield, uncovering a whopping 174 cannabis plants growing in four rooms, including the loft. The raid was the result of a targeted operation after officers received intel about the illegal grow.

Failed Escape Attempt Ends in Capture

When officers stormed the house, Agalliu tried to make a run for the back door – but surprise! More cops were waiting. A search upstairs revealed the full extent of the illegal farm. Dangerous electricity bypasses had been rigged to power the specialist growing equipment, posing a serious fire risk.

Three Years Behind Bars for Agalliu

The 30-year-old pleaded guilty to cannabis production and was sentenced to three years in prison at nottingham/" title="Nottingham" data-wpil-keyword-link="linked">Nottingham Crown Court on 11 April.

PC Caroline Jaques of Nottinghamshire Police said: “The production and supply of illegal drugs is a very serious offence.

“We don’t want to see these cannabis farms popping up anywhere near our communities, which is precisely why we work so hard to shut them down.

“These operations bring nothing but trouble to neighbourhoods. They often have wider links to organised crime and usually exploit vulnerable people in the process.

“On top of that, the dangerous electrical modifications associated with these grows also bring with them a very real fire risk to neighbouring houses.

“There is no place for this type of illicit activity in our communities, so we will continue to carry out proactive raids such as this one to disrupt these drug operations.”
