Leeds monster Petar Hristov gets 14 years for sick child sex plot
Paedophile nabbed in undercover sting
Petar Hristov, 29, was caught after trying to exploit young children in a sick online scheme. He believed he was chatting with a mother who could give him access to underage kids. In reality, he was tricked by officers from the Yorkshire and Humber Regional Organised Crime Unit posing as the woman.
Chilling online chats revealed
Between December 13 and February 3, Hristov asked the fake mum to sexually abuse the children and even arranged to meet them for his own depraved intentions. But police swooped before he could cause harm.
West Yorkshire Police’s Online Investigations Team arrested him in February. Examination of his devices uncovered indecent images of a child, adding to his grim crimes.
Justice served – lifetime ban and jail time
Leeds Crown Court found Hristov guilty on July 22 of inciting the sexual exploitation of a child under 13. He was handed a 14-year prison sentence alongside a lifetime Sexual Harm Prevention Order.
“We are pleased that Hristov has received a sentence that reflects the nature of his offending,” said Detective Chief Inspector Andrew Howard from the Regional Organised Crime Unit.
“I have no doubt that Hristov posed a risk to children through his online activities if he hadn’t been caught. We urge anyone who spots illegal activity involving child sexual exploitation online to report it immediately.”
This case shows law enforcement is stepping up to protect kids from vile predators lurking online.
