Sex Offender Tomasz Stempczynski Jailed for Breaching Sexual Harm Prevention Order

Tomasz Stempczynski, 24, from Selby, has been handed a jail term after breaking strict court orders designed to keep the public safe. The York Crown Court sentenced him on Thursday 8 October 2020 for breaching a Sexual Harm Prevention Order (SHPO) along with interim orders put in place during his original investigation.

Repeated Offender with Shocking History

Stempczynski was already on the radar after a detailed probe by the Online Abuse & Exploitation Team uncovered horrific offences. Back in August 2020, he was given a 16-month prison sentence, suspended for two years, after pleading guilty to multiple charges including:

  • Making indecent images and videos of children — a staggering 5,382 in total, with nearly 1,500 in the most serious Category A
  • Showing Category A indecent photos and videos to a child via webcam in 2017
  • Possession of 170 prohibited child images
  • Possession of 46 extreme pornographic images involving sex with animals

He was slapped with a 10-year Sexual Harm Prevention Order and placed on the Sex Offenders Register.

New Offences and Brazen Disregard for the Law

Despite the orders, Stempczynski was caught accessing illegal child abuse material from his home again. Arrested on 17 September 2020, police found he was using a new mobile phone he failed to disclose or unlock for investigators — a clear SHPO breach.

Further offences in April and May 2020 confirmed he flagrantly ignored not only the interim SHPO but also a Risk of Sexual Harm Order.

Police Condemn Stempczynski’s Actions

“Tomasz Stempczynski is clearly a depraved individual whose behaviour poses a serious danger to society,” said Detective Sergeant Steve Alderson.

“Not only was he previously convicted and given a suspended sentence for a catalogue of indecent images offences, he then had the audacity to reoffend and blatantly breach the Sexual Harm Prevention Order just over a month later.

“Stempczynski’s actions have demonstrated complete contempt for the justice system and he has rightly been imprisoned.”
