County Lines Drug Dealer Jailed for Eight Years with Loaded Pistol and Class A Drugs

A county lines drug dealer was locked up for eight years after police caught him red-handed with a loaded gun, crack cocaine, and heroin.

Caught Flushing £8,000 Worth of Crack Down the Toilet

Melvin Gambanga, 23, was busted when Kent Police stormed his Abbey Wood flat in March 2020. Officers forced entry and found him in his en-suite bathroom flushing crack cocaine – worth up to £8,000 – down the toilet.

That was just the start. A search of his home uncovered more heroin and crack cocaine, already packed into ready-to-sell wraps. Police also seized drug paraphernalia and mobile phones loaded with incriminating messages about supply deals.

Loaded Pistol Hidden in Wardrobe

Hidden in Gambanga’s wardrobe, officers found a loaded pistol with four bullets. The 23-year-old, from Federation Road, admitted possessing the prohibited weapon, ammunition without a licence, criminal property, and class A drugs with intent to supply.

He was sentenced at Maidstone Crown Court on 15 July 2020.

Police Praise Operation Against Drug Supply

“Gambanga presents a clear threat to public safety,” said Detective Constable Mark Donovan. “He sees drug abuse as a way to make money and was willing to risk serious violence by possessing a loaded firearm.”

“Even though he was based outside Kent, he couldn’t dodge justice. Our officers caught him coordinating drug supplies to Gravesend between October 2019 and March 2020.”

“We’re constantly tracking class A drug activity locally and will continue to hunt down dealers in their homes,” Donovan added.
