Reckless Moped Rider Tears Through Park to Dodge Police

Kyren Bryce, 23, from Hackney, has admitted to dangerous driving after a high-speed chase through central London that put the public at serious risk.

High-Speed Chase Through Residential Streets and Park

On April 23, Met Police officers from Operation Venice spotted a grey moped linked to a series of robberies. When cops tried to stop Bryce on Kings Road, SW3, he slammed the accelerator and fled.

The furious pursuit raced through Lambeth, with Bryce blasting past red lights, overtaking on solid white lines, even riding on pavements through housing estates – and fearsomely cutting across a park full of unsuspecting members of the public.

70mph in Residential Areas – Public Safety Ignored

Bryce’s reckless stunt saw him reach speeds exceeding 70mph in residential neighborhoods. Troopers eventually stopped him on Brixton Road using a slow-speed tactical contact to avoid endangering more lives.

Sergeant Slams “Complete Disregard” for Safety

“The riding displayed showed a complete disregard for other members of the public’s safety and also fell far below the expected standards of a safe and competent driver,” said Sergeant Tony McGovern.

“Bryce not only put his own life at risk, but also the lives of innocent members of the public for no reason other than to try and save his own skin.”

What Happens Next?

Bryce was arrested for dangerous driving and failing to stop, and charged the next day. He has pleaded guilty and will be sentenced at a date yet to be confirmed.
