£300,000 Cash Courier Busted Trying to Flee UK Hours After Arrival
A driver attempting to smuggle nearly £300,000 in criminal cash out of the UK just four hours after landing has finally been locked up.
Quick Arrest at Dover Border
Mariusz Dorozynski was caught red-handed when Border Force officers stopped his van at Dover. A scan revealed bundles of cash hidden among car parts. This sparked a major money laundering probe by the National Crime Agency (NCA).
Fled the UK, But Not for Long
Dorozynski was initially bailed in June 2016 but skipped court after being summonsed in November that year. Trying to dodge justice, he fled to Poland.
Tracked Down and Dragged Back
The NCA hunted him down with a European Arrest Warrant. He was arrested in Poland and extradited back to the UK in October last year.
“Dorozynski thought fleeing the UK would let him get away with it,” said a National Crime Agency spokesperson, “but thanks to our officers’ determination and international partners, he was made to face justice.”
