Drug Kingpin Hamsa Jama Busted in Stevenage

Hamsa Jama ran a major drug supply ring in Stevenage, moving class A drugs and raking in more than £2,000 daily. The 31-year-old was found guilty at St Alban’s Crown Court on 25 November after a police crackdown.

County Lines Operation Crushed

Jama was arrested in a July raid at a Stevenage property following a targeted investigation by Hertfordshire Constabulary’s Operation Mantis and Scorpion teams. The network used multiple ‘cuckooed’ homes—properties hijacked to hide drug dealing—to supply cocaine across the town.

Long Jail Term for Drug Lord

Sentenced to seven years and six months, Jama was convicted on nine counts of conspiracy to supply cocaine, plus an additional year for offences under the Proceeds of Crime Act. His sentence runs concurrently.

Police Praise Crackdown

“Jama took a leading role in the drug supply operation in Stevenage, selling class A drugs to hundreds of people and exploiting homes around the town to run the business. The dismantling of this county line will go a long way to stemming the flow of drugs, which will not be tolerated in Hertfordshire.” – Detective Constable David Purvis, Serious Crime Investigation Unit
