Drug Dealer Caught Red-Handed in Folkestone

David Fisher, 44, was arrested on Thursday 26 May 2022 at around 1pm in The Leas, Folkestone, after Kent Police spotted what looked like a drug deal in progress.

Swallowed Drugs, Threatened Officers

Fisher, who has no fixed address, tried to swallow wraps of drugs during his arrest. He was aggressive and uncooperative, making threats towards the officers. A search uncovered two mobile phones and a knife on him.

Text messages on one phone revealed orders for drugs, confirming Fisher’s role in supply.

Heroin and Cocaine Found – Jail Time Follows

The wraps Fisher attempted to swallow tested positive for cocaine and heroin. He was charged with possession with intent to supply and possession of a knife. Fisher later pleaded guilty and was jailed for four years and six months at Canterbury Crown Court on 28 September 2022.

DCI Matthew Talboys, from the County Lines and Gangs Team, said:

“The misuse of drugs can have such a detrimental impact on people’s lives and I hope this sends a very clear message to criminals that we will find you and ensure you are arrested.

We have officers all over the county making it very hard for criminals to sell drugs here, and we won’t let up on our determination to keep people safe and keep drugs off the streets.”

County Lines Gang Crackdown Pays Off

Fisher’s sentence was one of 24-and-a-half years’ worth of jail time handed down during September by the County Lines and Gangs Team.

  • 25 arrests made
  • 19 warrants executed
  • 45 charges secured
  • Over £5,000 of criminal cash seized
  • 9 weapons confiscated
  • 15 drug seizures completed

The team remains focused on stopping drug supply chains bringing illegal substances into Kent from other parts of the UK.
