Father and Son Busted with Stolen Guns Stash in Langley Park
Hidden Arsenal Discovered
Police raided a Langley Park home in November and uncovered a cache of handguns, shotguns, and ammunition. The weapons were cleverly stashed around the house, even hidden under a bed.
Stolen Shotguns Linked to Northumbria Farm
Investigations revealed the shotguns were stolen from a Northumbria farm. Officers believe the property was being used as a criminal armoury.
Glynns Arrested and Charged
Paul Anthony Glynn and his son Joseph Wilfred Glynn were arrested at the scene. Paul Glynn, 52, also faced charges for possessing firearms while being prohibited from owning them.
Following a four-day probe called Operation Mermaid by West CID and firearms experts, the pair were hit with 42 charges — 19 for the senior Glynn.
Both were remanded in custody pending trial.
Sentencing: Long Jail for Dad, Suspended for Son
In March, Paul Glynn pleaded guilty to all 19 counts. His 18-year-old son admitted three counts connected to the stolen shotguns.
On Friday, April 21, the judge sentenced Paul Glynn to 19 years behind bars. Joseph Glynn got an 18-month sentence, suspended for two years, plus 100 hours of community service.
