Jealous Fencer Allan Law Jailed for 14 Years Over Brutal Abuse
Allan Law’s jealous obsession turned terrifying in 2022 as he stalked his victim’s social media, unleashed relentless harassment, and took total control when she wasn’t around.
Harassment, Assault, and Control
Law made it nearly impossible for the victim to reach friends, family, or work colleagues. He restricted her movements, controlled her medication, physically assaulted her, and trapped her at his home. Despite a restraining order obtained in October 2022, Law repeatedly breached it by calling and visiting her. He was first arrested in February 2023 and charged over his conduct.
Escalating Violence and Court Battles
On 29 April 2023, police found Law assaulting the victim and holding her captive in a cupboard. He also attacked an officer during arrest, spat in the police van, and faced multiple charges. The victim then revealed he had raped her. Even from prison, Law tried 63 times to contact her. At maidstone/" title="Maidstone" data-wpil-keyword-link="linked">Maidstone Crown Court, Law pleaded guilty to breaching restraining orders, assaulting emergency workers, and damaging a police vehicle. He was convicted of rape, coercive control, assault causing actual bodily harm, and false imprisonment on 6 December 2023.
Long Prison Sentence and Tough Conditions
On 29 July 2024, the 35-year-old from Faversham was handed an extended 14-year prison sentence. He must serve an additional three years on licence after release. A lifelong restraining order and indefinite placement on the Sex Offenders Register were also imposed.
Police Praise Victim’s Courage
“This cruel man put a vulnerable woman through an appalling ordeal,” said Detective Constable Lucy Baker. “When she fought back with a court order, he just poured on the abuse. Law is a violent, manipulative bully who used threats and intimidation to control her. Thanks to her bravery, justice has been done. We hope she can now rebuild her health and her life.”
Detective Constable Bethany Honess added: “Violence against women and girls is a top priority for kent.police.uk" target="_blank" rel="noopener" title="Kent Police" data-wpil-keyword-link="linked">Kent Police. We urge victims to come forward. Nobody should suffer alone or feel trapped. There’s plenty of support out there, whether or not you speak directly to the police.”
